Have you ever gone to a website and seen those ads on the page that say "Google Ads"? Well those are the sponsored ads. Website owners put those ads on their site to recieve income from people that click on them. The ads are placed on the site through Google's code and will be relevant to the content on your site. So how do you get started you say!? Visit Google Adsense and sign up for the program. Once you have completed the form and submitted and verified the account you will be taken to the home page section of Adsense. What you want to do is select "Adsense Setup".

You will see three selections, one being Adsense For Content, Adsense For Search and Refferals. For simplicity sake we will stick with Adsense For Content. Once you have selected this you will see two options for what type of ads you want on your website. One is Ad Unit and the other Link Unit. The Ad Unit is most likely something you have seen before so lets stick with that. In the drop down box you have a few choices, for now just make sure "Text ads only" is selected, and click Continue.

This next section is where you can format how the ad will display on your website. So take some time here to match the colors, that way if it looks more like the them of your site, then the more likely people will click on it, hence the opportunity for you to make money online. In the format section, you can select from the dropdown box which type of layout you want for your ad, banner style, skyscraper(vertical) or square. Then after that you fill in your colors. Click Continue.

Choosing channels can be a great way to track the progress of your compaign. You can tell which pages are working better than others, maybe because of the placement of the ads on the site or the content.
